This season, for the first time in the history of La Fiorentina, four second-choice jerseys will make the city's colours vibrate on the field. On the purple jersey, which symbolises the heart and essence of the city of Florence, the symbols of the Santo Spirito Whites, the Santa Maria Novella Reds, the San Giovanni Greens and the Santa Croce Blues will shine.
4 BOROUGHS, 1 PURPLE HEART HOMAGE TO FLORENCE AND ITS HISTORY
The 17/18 sports season opens with the official presentation of the jerseys that ACF Fiorentina and le coq sportif wished to dedicate to the city of Florence and to its historic colours. Announced at the subscription campaign, the new season's: ""4 Boroughs, 1 Purple Heart"" is the theme which inspires the whole collection designed for La Fiorentina, a collection which, for the first time, will go beyond the traditional distinction between first, second and third-choice jerseys.
[ ... ] Thanks to the collaboration with city of Florence and the borough presidents, it is the red, blue, white and green colours which characterise the line of second-choice jerseys designed by the French designers as a tribute to the sporting tradition of the historic boroughs and to Florentine calcio storico. A heritage passed on from one generation to the next from the Middle Ages to the present, a precious heritage with a still unbelievably authentic character, as authentic as the link which unites Florence and the Florentines to their purple. The big shield, standing out on the right side of the purple jersey and which elegantly brings together the symbols of the four boroughs, celebrates this union.
In previous seasons, the French company located in Romilly-sur-Seine had already been particularly attentive and aware by inserting the traditional elements on official jerseys, with direct allusions to the history and the life of the purple club's supporters. For this third season, La Fiorentina and le coq sportif have jointly developed a collection that is not only highly evocative, but which also represents a genuine tribute to Florence, the city where the French brand decided two years ago to make its return to Italian football, aware that they share the same sporting culture and the same attachment to history with the Florentines and the purple supporters.
